Kate Hudson Wore a Boho Lace-up Dress

It's no secret that a boho dressing renaissance is upon us (see: the Chloé spring-summer 2024 show). Kate Hudson brought the aesthetic to prime time in a major way during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

On May 2, the actress-turned-singer stopped by the talk show to promote and perform her new song "Gonna Find Out" off her upcoming debut album Glorious. When Hudson took the stage, she wore a white-and-gray feather-printed maxidress with a plunging lace-up neckline, a fringe skirt, and wide wing-like statement sleeves with frayed ends. Hudson accessorized the look with a matching neck scarf adorned with gold studs and on-theme chunky bangles. Silver chromatic heeled booties finished off the ensemble.

Her blonde hair was styled in a middle part and tousled waves, and even her glam screamed indie sleaze with a smudged eyeliner look.

During the interview portion, Hudson kept things a bit more tailored with a rust-colored leather pencil skirt, brown velvet long-sleeve shirt, and black pointy-toed pumps. She even switched up her accessories with gold cuff bracelets and green drop earrings.

When speaking with Jimmy Fallon, Hudson opened up about her freshman album, which she made with songwriters Linda Perry and her partner Danny Fujikawa over the course of two and a half years. Although this is her foray into the music industry (in the meantime, Hudson has had a long successful film career), Hudson said that she's always had an affinity for music.

"It's the greatest feeling," she said about releasing her album later this month. "I love music. I've loved music my entire life. It was my first love, and I've been writing music my whole life, and I just thought it was something I would only have for myself until COVID, and then I was like, 'I'll regret not putting it out into the world.'"

Hudson's first album Glorious drops on May 17.
