Dorothy Kay Davis, 67, of Laurel passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg with her family by her side. She was born to Horace Edward Phillips and Dorothy Jewel Stringer Phillips on Thursday, Oct. 9, 1956 in Laurel.

 Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9-11 a.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. and burial will be in Davis Cemetery in Leakesville. Rev. Bubba Lightsey will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was preceded in death by her father Horace Edward Phillips and her mother Dorothy Jewel Stringer Phillips; sister Barbara Ainsworth; and her late husband Orval Glen Davis.

 She is survived by her daughters Kayla Ann Davis (Mitchell Thornhill) and Emma Peacock (Brian Floyd), grandson James Lee Thornhill; sisters Dianne Golden and Helen O’Neal; brothers Tommy Phillips (Carla) and Dago Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 She was a homemaker all of her life. She loved everyone.

 Pallbearers will be Ricky Allen, Donovan Peacock II, William Ainsworth, Charles “Charlie” Cromwell and Paul “Scooter” Thornhill.
